Velvétail Perfumes: New fragrances for cat and dog lovers
by Sergey Borisov
I discovered the new Thai brand Velvétail Perfumes while updating the Fragrantica database. An active search for recently launched fragrances led me to SKONX, a Thai online perfume store, where I found out more about this project.
The brand offers six fragrances named after four dog breeds: Golden Retriever, Greyhound, Schnauzer, and Maltese, and two cat breeds: Maine Coon and Persian. The presentation includes perfect illustrations of the animals, which are extremely easy to recognize. Some might argue that Maltese are not dogs but cats, given their size and behavior, but I would respond: in that case, Maine Coons are closer to dogs in size.
But what’s even more interesting is that the brand hit virtual shelves on November 25, 2025, and by January 2026, the initial stock on the website was already sold out. It’s clear that the idea of the brand’s owner and designer, Tipakorn Suwannasri, is working. We all love fluffy tails and adore looking at our pets, even in photos.
“The Velvétail Perfumes brand was born out of a sincere love and admiration for animals. We believe that every animal has its own character and unique beauty, and we consider these qualities ideal for expression through perfume.
Velvétail Perfumes aims to translate the essential character traits of different breeds of pets—playfulness, cheerfulness, tenderness, politeness, or elegance—into refined aromatic compositions. Each fragrance was created by Thai perfumers, who managed to preserve the distinct personality of each breed. In the future, we plan to introduce new breeds of pets,” says Tipakorn Suwannasri.
Unlike Oh My Dog! and Oh My Cat!, Velvétail Perfumes are not designed for our pets’ fur, but for their owners’ skin and clothes. The brand relies on the emotional bond between humans and animals; if a person has deep feelings for their pet, they may want to connect with it through scent. This is especially true when they have to leave their pet at home all day while they are at work. All pets have something we love about them—loyalty, grace, speed, elegance, and much more.
