A Perfect weekend in the Cities of the Romance of Italy

Trips to Italy for me, as a return to basics and the beautiful-life: sunset on the shore of a lake, a late supper in the light of the candles, or a leisurely stroll on the narrow streets paved. If you’re dreaming of a romantic weekend away or with a loved one or just for you to enjoy a getaway special, Italy is all that you could wish for. Here are a few of my favorite places that I have found, with amazement and excitement.

1. Verona: the Story of Romeo and Juliet.

How to start of a romantic weekend than in the city of love, the eternal? Verona is a charming little town, full of history and poetry, and the streets of its scenic I’ll make you feel like you’ve stepped into a fairy tale. At each step, you’ll find historic buildings, and the smaller ones hidden away, with the air of the time.

What not to miss in Verona.:

  • Juliet’s balcony: it May be a cliché, but there’s something magical about the visit to the balcony, which was inspired by the story of Shakespeare’s plays. And, quite honestly, look at that, a small balcony, and you can imagine the scene of the famous it’s plain and easy is a must!
  • The Arena of Verona: the coliseum in a miniature, almost perfect condition. In the evenings in the summer, here are the performances of the opera in the open – if you get a chance, it’s a different experience for you.
  • Piazza delle Erbe: a Walk among the stalls with colorful souvenirs, fruits, and flowers. Stop in for a cappuccino and to observe people in every corner of the market, it has a story.

Advice: For a romantic dinner, try a sun terrace with a view of the river Adige in the west. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere of the story.

2. Venice: the Magic of the Canals and the Gondolas

Venice is a place you will never forget it, even if you have to try! Here, it sounds like something out of a dream: the narrow streets, the sound of the water hitting the shore, and the trams that swings back and forth quietly. Even though it can be busy, if you can avoid rush hour traffic, you can enjoy it for a weekend, very relaxing.

What not to miss in Venice:

  • Piazza San Marco: it’s the epicenter of the city, the Basilica of San Marco and the Campanila, offering a great view. In the evening, when the crowd fades away, it’s the best time for you to walk around.
  • A ride in a gondola: Yes, it can be a little pricey, but it’s a ride in a gondola in the sunset-this is one of those experiences that you will never forget it. If you’re going with a partner, the time is magical!
  • The Rialto bridge,The most ancient and probably the most iconic bridge in Venice, italy. In this place you can admire the canals, and the hustle and bustle of the Venice of the netherlands.

Advice: Try it for dinner in a little restaurant on a side street, hidden. Instead, let’s pick of the restaurants on the channels, try the wine bars and osteriile a local, where you’ll find all the best dishes of the venetian.

3. Florence: the Art of the Renaissance, and the Panoramic Views of the

Florence is a city of art and history, but also a place full of romance. The elegant buildings and the bridges of old, creating a special atmosphere and narrow streets and cobblestone are the perfect place for a romantic walk.

What not to miss in Florence:

  • The cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore: If you have the patience to go up the stairs to the cupola, you will have the best view of the city. The effort is worth it, every step of the way!
  • A gallery of the Uffizi: Florence is the heart of the Renaissance, and the Uffizi gallery is the perfect place for you to discover the art of the city. Famous paintings of Botticelli and Da Vinci will take your breath away.
  • Bridge Area: in The west, the old bridge, it becomes incredibly photogenic. High-end jewelry stores on the bridge, they have a special charm to it and, who knows, maybe you’ll find a souvenir to remember!

Advice: In Florence, I would advise you to start early morning. Take a walk around the cathedral when it is quiet, enjoying an espresso at a coffee shop small, and let yourself be surprised by the beauty of this lovely city.

4. Lake Como to Relax and Elegance

For an unforgettable experience, a visit to Lake Como, it is like a breath of fresh air. The peaceful atmosphere, the luxury and the natural landscapes are the perfect combination for a romantic weekend away. Lake Como is most likely the destination to relax, but that doesn’t mean that there are not a lot of exploring to do!

What not to miss at the Lake of Como:

  • The town of Bellagio: A little gem of a city with streets paved, narrow stairs, and spectacular views of the lake.
  • Villa del Balbianello: A historic villa with beautiful landscaped gardens, on the shore of the lake. It’s so beautiful that it showed up in famous movies!
  • A ride in the boat: The best way to admire the beauty of the lake is from the water. You can rent a boat or take one of the tours are carried out to explore the hidden places.

Advice: Wrap up your day with a glass of italian wine on the shore of the lake, in a small restaurant, and elegant. The atmosphere is like a dream.

Get Practical tips for an Unforgettable Weekend

  • Pick the right time: the Months of the spring and autumn, they are ideal to visit the towns and cities, as you’ll avoid the crowds of tourists and the temperatures are more pleasant.
